It is no coincidence that Ippolito Nievo defined this region as a "small compendium of the universe": a patch of land that in a few tens of kilometers encloses the sea, the mountains , the plain and the hill. "Ramandolo" is also the locality in the municipality of Nimis where the restaurant is located, and it is also the name of the vine and of the first regional wine to boast the Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin: one of the most important wines of the region, known from the night of the times (long before the arrival of the Romans), "sweet, but not too much" perfect as an accompaniment to cheeses, foie gras or dry pastries. Next to the Osteria there is also the splendid sixteenth-century church of San Giovanni Battista, which can always be visited and inside which you can admire a beautiful wooden altarpiece by Vincenzo di San Vito and splendid frescoes by Gian Paolo Thanner, a Bavarian artist who in those years he painted several churches in Friuli.
