Ideal for Friends, couples, seniors, small groups, families, history lovers The Castle of the Rocca Bernarda, initially a fief of the Aquileian patriarchate, was later donated to the community of Cividale which in the 15th century left it to the Capiferro family of Roman origin. With Ippolito Valvason, to whom the complex was inherited, and with his son Bernardo the fortified residence was built, dedicated to the latter and completed in 1567. Later, after various owner transfers, the Rocca passed to the Perusini. The complex, with its sixteenth-century beauty, is located in the middle of a vast park sloping down to the hill that develops around lush vineyards. Thanks to the dedication and competence of Gaetano Perusini, the cultivation of the Picolit wine grape was developed on these hills, which over the years acquired fame all over the world. It is now home to a winery belonging, like the whole complex, to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. During the tour, you will visit the 16th century villa and cellar with a final guided tasting of 3 wines.
